Satellite Link option for Pro Tools HD systems

Connect up to five Pro Tools|HD systems (or up to four Pro Tools|HD systems plus one Avid Media Composer Video Satellite system, or one Video Satellite LE system) via Ethernet using the Satellite Link option for Pro Tools HD systems for synchronized playback. Cue, play, and stop the transports, make play selections, and solo tracks across any of the systems from any linked workstation.

• Link and unlink networked systems and see the link status of other connected systems
• Configure Pro Tools systems for single- or multi-operator workflows
• Use Satellite Link simultaneously with MachineControl™ —Satellite Link allows one linked Pro Tools system to go online and drive a 9-pin capable device
• Operate the transport of any of the networked Pro Tools systems from the D-Control Transport section (D-Control® console not included)

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS (PC AND MAC)

• Computer: At least two (2) Avid-qualified Windows XP-, Vista- (32-bit Business or Ultimate), or Mac OS X-based computers
• Host software: At least two (2) Pro Tools system running Pro Tools 8 or higher software; Satellite Link option must be installed and authorized on all satellite systems (not required on the “administrator” system)
• Network connection: Ethernet LAN required. All systems should be on the same subnet, and it is recommended that all systems be on the same Ethernet switch to minimize response time over the network
• Copy protection: iLok USB Smart Key for authorization, sold separately (a valid iLok.com User ID is required for online Producer Factory and Producer Factory Pro purchases)

MACHINECONTROL
Satellite Link can be used in conjunction with the MachineControl option. Satellite Link allows one linked Pro Tools system at a time to go online and drive a 9-pin capable device.

D-CONTROL MULTI-MODE
D-Control units with Multi-Mode capability can easily toggle between up to four Pro Tools HD systems.

CONTROL SURFACE SUPPORT
All Avid control surfaces supported by Pro Tools 8 are supported with the Satellite Link option.

LOCAL VIDEO OPTIONS
Satellite Link supports all local QuickTime and Avid video options supported by Pro Tools 8. Additionally, a Media Composer Video Satellite or Video Satellite LE system can be connected for synchronized video playback on another computer.

MEDIA COMPOSER VIDEO SATELLITE
One Media Composer Video Satellite system can be connected to up to four Satellite Link systems for synchronized video playback. This functionality requires the Video Satellite option and a separate Media Composer system.

Video Satellite LE
One Video Satellite LE system can be connected to up to four Satellite Link systems for synchronized video playback. This functionality requires a separate Mac-based Pro Tools LE system with the Video Satellite LE option.
