The MP3 option is not a separate product or download, it is the authorization to unlock a feature that already exists within your Pro Tools software.
The feature is activated by authorization code or by iLok. MP3 Authorization is available on iLok for Pro Tools versions 7.3 and higher. Your iLok Authorization will be automatically deposited in your iLok.com account. You will be prompted to activate the feature when you open a session and go to bounce or export to MP3.
The process for activation is described in the "Next Steps" you received after your purchase. You can access these instructions again by logging into your account at account.avid.com.
When authorizing your MP3 option make sure the demo is uninstalled. To uninstall the demo run the installer, click modify, and uncheck MP3 from the program list.
If you experience any difficulties with the authorization process, or for more detailed information, please visit the following sites:
MP3 Option FAQ page - or - www.digidesign.com/download/mp3/.If you run into installation problems, please try the suggestions from that page.
1. You may have to delete ALL files from your Codecs/MP3 folder, then run the installer again. The MP3demo.dll file and the MP3.dll file cannot both be in the Codecs/MP3 folder.
2. You may also need to update to the latest version of the PACE InterLok drivers:
www.paceap.com/dldrvr.html
Further detailed information about iLok can be found here.
Your iLok User ID is what you originally used to create your iLok account and how you login into your account on ilok.com (not your login password, which you also choose). The iLok User ID is sometimes called an "iLok Account" or "iLok ID." The iLok serial number printed on the iLok itself is NOT your iLok User ID. Please do not use this number when creating an account.
If you forget your iLok account password, there is a password reminder link on the ilok.com login page.
